This year we celebrate 20 years!
If you would like to join us pop along to rehearsals on Sunday (term time) evenings at Trinity, St Davids University in Carmarthen from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Woodwind, Brass and Percussion. Our members come from all over West Wales – including Fishguard, Haverfordwest, Aberaeron and Swansea.
Our next rehearsal is this Sunday (24th April).
The Show Must Go On
All set up in the pit ready for ‘show time‘ at The Lyric Theatre, Carmarthen where we are supporting other organisations from Carmarthen to raise money for Canolfen Elfed, Queen Elizabeth High School.
A new beginning
Our first rehearsal of 2016 went off last night without a hitch. New music to get stuck into, and we have now begun planning for our 20th anniversary events. #CSWB20
If you have any ideas for things we should be doing to celebrate then why not send us a message. Do you want the band to perform a concert for you? Perhaps you’d like to see us doing something more daring, a river concert (floating downstream on a barge) perhaps? Lots going on to celebrate – watch this space.
We hope to have a year filled with extra special treats for the band and you our public.
See you soon.
Ps. You can now follow us on twitter – @CarmarthenWind
Fancy Dress?
Well, our trip to Tenby in nautical costume seemed to go down a treat. People were at time literally dancing in the street, and our fancy dress caught their eye.
So now I ask you, would you like us to do it again? To brave the elements to entertain you with music and costumed themed to the occasion?
What should our next fancy dress be? Please message the band with any suggestions. We look Forward to hearing from you.
Gardener’s Question Time
Just to remind you folks that guys from BBC Radio 4 will be recording Gardener’s question time at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales this Sunday, 19th July. So if you are interested, and have a burning horticultural question at your heart, then why not pop on down to watch the show be recorded.
Oh, and the Carmarthen Symphonic Wind Band will be playing to entertain the masses in the Great Glasshouse. Even more reason to come and see.
See you there.
